After the final meeting of the Silver Grove Town Board, which suburb has been annexed by the city of New Al bany, a joint meeting of the Town Board, the New Albany Mayor, Board of Works and Finance Committee of the City Council was held when the Sil ver Grove property was turned over to the city. At its final meeting the Silver Grove Town Board allowed all claswe against the corporation, including the salaries of the officeraap to that time after which the books showed # cash balance in the town treasury of $91.63. The total value of the corporation prop erty turned over by the corporation to the city is in round numbers £ 1,300. The most valuable need of Silver Grove was its fire equipment, includ ing a quantity of hose and the reel house of the Fire Department. The question of police protection in the annexed territory together with ad ditional fre bydrants and street fights that must be provided by the city was discussed, but no definite conclusion s was reached, though the Sliver Grove authorities were aserted by the author itieg of the city that the corporation was given fair treatment.
