The ridewas scheduled 'to start at 9 o’clock fromGrant monument in the park, but owingto the heavy downpour the meet was atfirst postponed until Sunday. At 10o’clock,; however, twenty of the more veu-turesome members became Impatient andagreed to take a ride of fifteen miles through the park on a dare.Led by George I*. Nichols, president of the association, and Miss Astrid S. Hosing, vice president, the little band of daring riders started on their way in a pelting shower. The trip was made without incident.Miss Roslng’s mount, “Kid/* is a famous hurdler and has won many ribbons at past horse shows. . - ■The South Side members of the association were scheduled to start from the.entrance of Washington Park at 9 oVloCk, but, after seeing that the weather conditions were not suited to a cross-country ride, postponed their excursion until Sunday, w'hen seventy-five members •will take part. ,The association has a membership of 300 and holds rides weekly. It is a very informal association, the members having no regular meeting place. Most of the members are members of various riding schools 1 and may be seen any clear morning riding through the parks.Miss Rosing praises the bridle paths of the city very highly. “Our system of bridle paths.” she said, “Is one of the finest in the world.
