Used ToLive Near Edgewood.The Journal is permitted to print the obituary and picture of one of the old settlers ol this community, James S. Walters, whose death was announced in these columns some timeago. His face will be familiar to many of the old timers here and also a great many of the younger generation will remember when he run the sawmill east of town.James S. Walters was born in Carl county, Ohio, July 15, 1885, and diedat the home of bis daughter, Mrs. Clark Towslee, near Columbia Fails, Montana, on the 17th day of October,— ...Mu—!Jlt;(J. S. Kadabah in 1858 in Elk Township, Delaware county, Iowa and to this union were born twelve children, three ot whom died In infancy. There are still left to mourn his death a .wife and nine children, Jacob of Creston, Montana; Mrs. Lizzie Therriault of Kalispell, Montana, [819 Second Avenue West]; James S. Jr., William S., Marion E., and Amos R., all of Kalispell, Montana; Mrs. Loretta Towslee, of Columbia Falls, Montana; Aaron A. of Midvale, Montana; and Mrs, Lillie Lewis of Spokane, Montana. Also two sisters, Mrs. A. Lewis of Columbia Falls, Montana, and Mrs. R Fratt, of Illinois.The funeral was held at the Fair-view Hall on Tuesday, the 19th, con- i ducted by Elder Buck, with six old soldiers acting as pallbearers. The lt;body was laid to rest in the cemetery at that place.Mr. Walters served his country well ( in the Civil war and his death oc- ] curred just forty-four years to the day t from the day he was discharged from the United States service. All Edge-wood friends will sympathize with the bereaved family in their sorrow.11lt;
