It happened al the residence of Charles Robinson, a prominent farmer and well-known citizen, About half past nine o’clock, after all the occupants of the house were in bed, Mr. ItobiHson saw the flash of a light at the head of the cellar stairs in the dininlt;*Clroom, just off front the bed room in which and his wife were sleeping. Quick as lightning he sprang out of bed to the other side of the room and seized a shot gun, but before he had time to raise it a burglar sprang forward and grasp it by the barrels, and presented a revolver at his head. At the same time another burglar fired a shot from his revolver. This aroused the two hired men, a Bohemian and a Irishman, who came tumbling down the stairs into the dining room. The Bohemian came down first and was met by a presented revolver and ordered out of the door. Then came the Irishman, who was ordered out the same door, but he couldn’t get out, for the Bohemian wras holding it on the outside. While the Irishman was tugging at the door to get out the burglar raised his revolver, took deliberate aim at him, and fired, the ball striking the door directly over his head. This caused the Bohemian to let go of the door, and thye Irishman got out. In the meanwhile the struggle between the burglar and Mr. Robinson was going on fiercely, but when the room was cleared the burglar m the dining room approached Mr. Robinson, placed his revolver at his head, and commanded him to let go the gun or he would kill him. The strong persuasions of the robber, together with Mrs. Robinson’s entreaties, caased Mr. Robinson to give up. The robbers then rifled 3jtr, jfcjfc pa#te, taking there-rom $350, and left.Every effort is being made to apprehend them. Mr. Samuel Raworth, a son-m-law ol Mr. Robinson, was in town this morning to take prompt measures in the matter. A reward of $200 is offered for the capture of the thieves.
