Cub Scouts of Pack 117 pre sented a puppet theater at the pack meeting Wednesday covening concluding a month-long study of puppet making by several dens. The program of puppet skits in cluded the first act by Denino under direction of Den Mothers Wilma Schade and Mrs. Hazel Hansen; hand puppets, used to teach a new song; and shadow puppets, presenting the story of the first Thanksgiving by Cubs of den three. Christine Whitney, den mother, planned the latter skit and Richard Sheets, den chief, as nar rator. The story of Pinocchio was de picted by string puppets in the third acts under direction of Den Mother Ruby Freeman. Narrator was George Covert, den chief. Cubs of den four displayed he puppets they made themselves and members of Mrs. Catherine Ward's den one were stage hands and an nouncers. Interlude music was by Jon Cox, Jimmy Dobbs, Norma and Carl Flowers and Howard and Larry Eastland. Mrs. Connie Scanlan was given a certificate of appreciation for her oen mother services. Jimmy Furu shiro and Leslie Sheets were re ceived as new Bobcats and Jimmy Scanlan and Tommy Mangum were graduated into Scout Troop No. 117. One year service stars were presented Gary Dike and Nick Ward and denner badges were awarded Reed Freeman, Ronnie Schlerf and David Jones. Assistant denner badges were re ceived by Cliff Wilson, Jeff Tollef son and David McNeill. Wolf awards were given Bruce Alsip and Jon Cox and = bear awards were to Wayne Hansen, Ronnie Shanholtz and Gary Shira. Cary Bishop received a lion award. Eanning arrow points were Greg Schade, Jimmy Dobbs, Tommy Mangum and Jimmy Scanlan. The attendance award and the totem pole was awarded to Den four. Others participating were Nick Ward, Craig Leigh, Gary Shira, Dennis Boesen, Larry Miller, Greg Schade, Mike Perry, Kenneth Rosecrans, Richard Smith, Lester Whitney, Lloyd Gould, Bruce Keithly, Jack Johnson, Glen Scott, Leslie Sheets, David Miles, Gene Pilcher, Johnny Covers, Corder Campbell, Phil Davies, Norman Flowers, Billy Cunningham, George Blecha, Carl Flowers, Bar ton Palmer, Daryl, Sallaz, Terry Frost, James Ayers and Mrs Frances Flowers.
