THAT’S SIX YEARS OLD! Was Quenched When Nine Saloons Opened In Clermont County on Monday. On Monday morning at six o’clock nine saloons opened to appease the long unquenched thirst of the inhab itants of Clermont county, which for six years has been an arid desert. The whole county was voted dry un der the old county option plan, but the “Home Rule ” amendment to the Ohio constitution made possible again the sale of the liquor. Ten men have been granted licens es and nine opened in the following localities: John Prudent, Jacob C. Bauman and George Colonel, New Richmond; John H. Keller and Ben jamin Grazier,..Batavia , township; Michael Boggs, Stonelick township; Frank Emerson, old Broadway Hotel, Loveland; Albert Davis, Mill and Main streets, Milford, Clermont coun ty side, and John H. Brown, Milford, Hamilton county side. The last named saloon is not in Clermont county, but as Milford lies in two counties, Clermont and Ham ilton, and as most of it lies on the Clermont county side, the saloon li cense was issued there. Another saloon is expected to be opened in two weeks by George Greer, of Loveland. He was grant ed a license, but his district is in the part declared dry under the Jones local option in 1909. He declares he will secure enough names on a peti tion to make possible the opening of his place.
