REV. G. W.~*MORRISONDIES UNEXPECTEDLY,Monmouth Students Grieved tt Hear of Ilis Death.Will Morrison received word last Tuesday of the sudden and unexpected death jE his father, the Rev. G. W. Morrison ’84 at his home in Statesville, North Carolina. The entire student body of Monrwiuth College learns with sadness of tho death oftheir schoolmate's father.The Rev. Morrison hail not been in good heath for a number of years. While a missionary in India several years a,go, he was taken ill and was forced to give Up his work there. Since retji'mng to this country’ his health has not been the best. The Morrison family reside near States-ville where Mr. Morrison farmed and devoted seme of his time to home mission work.He was graduated from Monmouth College with the. .class of 1S84 andSuon after was ordained as a pastor of the United Presbyterian church. He and his wife decided to become missionaries, and were assigned to a tuition in India, yheer they remained foi a number of years, While living in India, bnrii Mr, and Mrs. Morrison were affected by the dimale and Ihcir health failed. Tl'.e wife passed away after several years, and on account of health conditions Rev. Morrison was advised by phyaicans to return to An erica.Upon returning U Lhe United States, Rev. Morrison located at Ontario, Oregon, where lit had charge vf it past mute. ’ The northwestern climate did not agree with him and In- decider to move south in hopes of improving his health. He took up liifc reridcnoo neat? Statesville, N, C.,, and has lived there for ievexul years.The bocy was brought to Monmouth., and funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. R. A. Wilson of th-'sj city. sThe services were in charge of Or.' McMichacl of the College fliifl Or. Burnett of the First church. The students express their deepest sorrow and syympathy for the saddened relatives.
