Plans for New Palatine School Building Adopted by BoardPALATINE, ILLINOIS, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1911. $1.50FIRST FLOOR PLAN SECOND FLOOR PLANPALATINE/S PROPOSED NEW SCHOOL HOUSETHE NEW SCHOOL HOUSE!Yes, that is it and tHe Enterprise thinks it lias a reason to feel quite puffed up this week in being able to give to its readers the result of the due and careful consideration of the Palatine Board of Education.The building, approximately btixflo feet, built of brick, with stone facings. The law requires two entrances, but to make it still more safe, there will be three to the first floor with two stairways to the second. There will be seven rooms of the standard size, viz: 32x25,an assembly room on second floor, 5(x25 which will accommodate the high school and eighth grade, a laboratory 25x25, ' which can also be used as a recitation room, and an office on the main floor. 1 The halls w ill be large and commodious. The boiler will be placed back of the center of the basement. The boys to gain entrance to basement will use the east side stairway and the girls the west side.It took very careful figuring to plan a building of this size, which could be built of first class material and still keepthe cost w ithin a limit of 825,000. By omitting nearly all ornamental work, running the walls straight up from the basement to the roof, without breaks and by not planning to furnish the building complete with new furniture at the start, and by omitting all flourishes, the board has been assured by the architect that it can be built for the money. The contract with Mr. Ashby calls for his supervision of the work, thus insuring that the citizens will get full value from the contractors.The Board of Education have submitted all its prodeedings in the matter of j the school bond issue to Mr. Charles B. \V ood, of Wood A Oakley, the bond j experts and he has given an opinion that j the bonds and proceedings are legal, j This means that the bonds will bring the i highest market price and a premium will ; be received. The bonds will be sold i about the middle of March.Bids for the building will be advertised j | for about the first of Jam try.Separator cream delivered on order, l | :0c a quart. Converse Farm.;
