VOLUME 4NUMBER 54pf12 children hurt in school bus-truck collisionA bus-load of elementary and junior high school children narrowly escaped serious injury Monday morning at 8:50 o’clock when a Uintah County school bus and a transport truck collided about Z1 miles east of Roosevelt near The Bam dance hall on Highway 40 12 of theyoungsters suffered minor injuries.ONE OF THE children most1 seriously injured was Karen Mired, 8, daughter of the driv-ei of the bus, Jack L Allred. She was examined at Roosevelt LDS Hospital where attendants said she had a badly bruisedhip.Li Three others suffered facial cuts They included Jerry Ross, 12, Dale Ross, 9 sons of Mr n and Mrs Weldon Ross, Roose-velt, and Joe Rasmussen. 8, son of Mr. and Mrs Ole Rasmussen, Roosevelt.31ki-y;ot.ir,shitet!ALL 29 students aboard thebus were examined at Roosevelt LDS Hospital, many were X-raved and 12 were treated for minor injuries, attendants said.Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Leonard Ferguson said the I accident occurred when the bus stopped to pick up children■\ LOADED auto transport truck, driven by Leonard Frank Sutton, 31, Thornton, Colo, westbound on the highway, collided with the rear of the bus as it pulled around the vehicle. Trooper Ferguson said the trailer jackknifed and hit the left front sirlc of the bus, knocking it 15 feet.All children were students at Todd Elementary and Alterra Junior High School.
