ie of Mrs. J.B. Warner and Mrs. Louis Heeren departed for Holywood, Calif. in response to a message stating that their grandson and nephew had been killed by a car. The lad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mil ton Green, was fifteen years of age and said paper in Hollywood, where the parents are also employed. Fun eral services were held in Califor nia. Mrs. John Smith returned late Wednesday from Jordan, Minn, where she spent the last week. John Van Zanten of Orange City has been appointed section foreman on the N.W. railroad here and plans to move to Treton as soon as it is possible to secure living quarters. Mrs.John Bruns of Peterson came to spend the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hagge. Miss Lena Bruns accompan ied them home tn spend a few days at Peterson. Announcements were received here of the birth of a son, Randall Martin, to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Karr of Los Angeles. Mr. Karr will be remembered as the former Wos es Katz of Ireton. The baby arriv ed Oct. 30.
