2 Alpine Boys Leave For Training Camp At Fort Bliss Jimmie Kidd and Robert La farelle, both of Alpine, were the first draftees from Brewster county, leaving Wednesday for Fort Bliss to enter the training camp. Both had previously vol unteered. This fills the county’s quota for the first call. The two draftees must pass their final physical test after they reach Fort Bliss, however, and if either or both are rejected, the next three men in line—Eduardo Valenzuela, Cruz Portillo and Henry Fierro, will be called in for examination to fill the quota, it was stated at the local draft of fice. Others who have volunteered and will enter the service when called, provided they are accept ed, are Bernardo Polanco, Wally Ramirez, Salvador, Natera, Henry Fierro, Cruz Portillo, Eduardo Valenzuela, Inez Escareno, Moises Arriola, Eufracio Hernandez, Elpi dio Ramos, Ruperto Garcia. Among the Brewster county boys already in the service, who volunteered before the draft, are Roy Johnson, Fr. D. A. Russell, Earl Balkum and Vick Winter, who are attending an aviation school in California; A. N. South all Jr., U. S. Navy; Stanley Hen derson, U S. Navy at San Diego; Red Stevens, Randolph Field, San Antonio; and Eward Joseph Bren wick, Ft. Bliss. Alfalfa is also known as lucern.
