McGrftw relative to his development north of the Whitfield Estates, announced this week. Those here are Herman B. Walker and J. B. Van Urk, of the J. B. Van Urk Co. of Miami. The gentlemen arrived in the city on a train four hours late and found that Mr. McGraw had been called to Tampa but left an appointment hour for his return.Mr. Walker said yesterday afternoon regarding his plan that Miami has become the market place for all Florida and that Sarasota is destined to become the great port of the West coast.Messrs. Walker and Van Urk are both well acquainted with Florida developments and -to theirj mind Sarasota is not to be excelled anywhere on what the future holds in store.In proof of his contention Mr. Walker pointed to a map of the state and tracing the shoreline declared that no other city of any promise had direct access to the salt water. That alone is a point to be stressed.' He called attention to the similarity of shore contour between this city and Miami, both with Superfine beaches, connecting keys and a protected harbor directly on the deep water. Carrying the parallel still further Mr. Walker said each had its financial backers who were willing to back their judgment with their millions. There is also a community building being planned, the feature of which will be an in-door basket hall court which will be the largest in Florida.W. E.
