When Officer Kemp attempted to arrest Bailey the latter drew a pistol but was prevented from using it by the weapon being grubbed bv Office Mea ls, who wrenched it from the d unken man’* grasp. In the scuffle Pave Fnlbright, a fneud of Bailey’s, rook a hand and struck Officer Kemp o i top of the head with a blunt in-tacnent, cutting a gash about two inches long.Both Bailey and Fulbright were fi-a’dy landed in j ill, aud Officer Kemp hen proceeded to have his wound dr ssed, which upon examination was foand not to be at all serious.Bdley undoubtedly would have used his weapon, if he had been allowed to lo so, and the p.onii-t action of the of-ti.er probably averted a tragedy.
