»The Maid of Arran. This beautiful Irish drama by Louis F. Baum was presented by his own superb star company at Concordia Hall Tuesday evening last in a manner unsurpassable. To say that Mr. Baum has surroundedhimself with talented artists is unnecessary when we state the fact that Agnes llal-lock, Genevieve Rodgers and Mr. FrankL. Aiken are chief among his sup, port. I he balance ot the company are all recognized as being prominent members of the theatrical profession. And take it all in all, it would be a great undertaking for a manager to surround himself with betterartists. 1 he drama embraces true wit, pathos, comedy and study, besides many striking situations, beautiful scenery and a pleasing but simple plot. The music, both instrumental and vocal, is beautiful iu itself, but made more so on account of its excellent rendition. We regret that the “Maid of Arran” was not witnessed by a greater number of people, as it is an event that will long be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to be in attendance. A repetition of this beautiful idyllic drama would call out a much larger audience and we hope at a not far distant dayour citizens may again have the opportunity of witnessing it.
