Fifty fat beef catti* were taken by Albert Hodges from the Palo Verde , VAlley to Yuma last. Saturday, to supply the markets of that place. Hodges decided not to use the ferry, but to j swim the Cattle across the Colorarlo River, and drove them Into the water, expecting them to land at the South orn Pacific depot. But the current was strong, and the rattled drifted down tream until they landed on a sand bar below the railroad bridge, and there they mired, ft was necessary to use a block and tackle to get the animals out on the Yuma side.
