DEATH OF RICHARD POWELLk/Well Known Citizen Died of-fright's Ditetse History of His Life.Biehard Powell, for 30 years a reti* deal of thli city, quietly passed away St 4;8Q o’clock Saturday afternoon. Mr Powell was born Feb. 3,1840, at Brierly Hill, Staff or dshire, England*, and came to America in 1860, stopping at Ma-hanoy City, Pa., where he worked inthe anthracite coal mines. Later, he went to Illinois and from there, seven years after landing in this country, he came to Massillon..He was employed in the coalmines at Hew man until 1878, when with thelate Abel James he went into the ea-, ( %loon business in West Main street. After the death of Mr. James, he conducted the business himself. He4was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Powell and the second of a family often children, of which seven are living.He Is survived by his wife and four ehildred, Mrs Frank Wagoner a^d Richard L. Powell of this city, Mrs. Either F. Norton, of Oswego, Mich., and Mrs. J, O. Deja, of McBride,Mich. Of the seyen brothers and sisters of the deceased now living,* four are in England.Mr. Powell had been unwell for the last four years and had made yearly visits to Mt. Clemens in the hope of bettering his health. The immediate cause of death was bronchitis. Probably no resident of Stark county was better and more favorably known than Mr. Powell.The funeral will be held from his late residence on Thorn street at 3:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev.
