any indisposition. „The Windsor Castle Packet.—The following copy of r letter has been transmitted to Lloyd’s* by Capt. Sutton, of Falmouth. It is written by Capt. William llogers, who commanded the Windsor Castle packet, after the capture of the French privateer Le Genie. It is dated Carlisle Bay* Oct. 4.“ I am very happy to inform you of our arrival at Barbados, after 36 days passage. On the 1st of Oct. ift lat. 14. 30. N. long. 57- 30. \Ve fell in with the French privateer Le Genie, and after two hours action, she struck to the Windsor Cnstle. We had 13 killed and wounded ; the privateer 57 killed and wounded. I have obtained a protest for the ship's damage.• All the main rigging is shot awdy ; the mizen ditto, main mast and mizen mast. If I can fish the mizen mast and main yard until I get . to Antigua, I will. AH the main and mizen channel is shot away with her long 24-pounder.. Our sails arc very much damaged. We had a great deal of fatigue for these four dayS, in : having so many prisoners on board, and havingonly 11 pf us to guard 56. She is the Genie schooner, out of Guadaloupe, mounts six long six-pounders, and one long 24-pounder, and 109 men.
