A very pretty event in connection with the service was the part taken by 4 0 school children, who had been drilled by the Sisters. At the conclusion of the mass the little ones advanced to the sanctuary and each handed Father O'Malley a rose, forty roses being commemorative of Father O’Malley’s forty years as priest. Bach little one recited a short verse, pertinent to the occasion. The little ones who took part were: James Quinnan, Mary Mnughan, Joseph Kane, Regina Bohan. Francis Kane, Mary Scott, Charles Groux, Nora McGuire, Thomas Groux. Clare Keating, Mungo Thompson, Katherine Gillespie, Raymond Gilroy, Mary Gillespie, Gerald MaoReth, Margaret Golden. Sarah Murray, Thomas Higgins, Helen Hopkins, Francis llohan, Annette Derrig, Cyril Bong. Marie McHale, John Higgins, Anna Sharps, Hudson Rosen-crance, Agnes Tigue, Edward Rutledge, Cecilia Gillespie, Richard Lahey, Mary Durkin. Martin Greeley, Margaret Sclt;jtt, Vincent Fitzsimmons, Marie Joyce, Thomas Williams, Bessie Bly, James* McHale, Mary McDonough, Francis Moylan.Rev. Father O’Malley chose as the text for his sermon the following wdrds of Scripture: “You have not chosen me; but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go , and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain.” St. John. 15:5-16,
