Advices, received by him as to the various crops show,that they are of the most gnu il\ iug nature. He reports briefly, as follows: Wheat and corn have done well, tobacco crop most satisfactory, yield of Irish potatoes all that could be expected, small erops geL• • n111y gOOd, and the apple eroIalmost h mine of wealth. Old tracts oi land, he says, “that no one Thought to he worth anything have in recent years been converted into vast orchards. which now are paying thousand-- of dollars annually to their owners, who simply sit back and reap their harvests in money,*’ Bur the best of his report is, that the most of our farmers, who a short time back were heels over head in debt, now have about paid all tlieir debts ami have some money laid up.
