— Elias Underwood, Es-j,, ofProphet*town, had his arm amputated within an inch of His shoulder last Sunday by Sterling physicians. In the raoiuiuff he had started to go shooting, and setting his gun down against the barn while he went to let his cow loose. The cow ran againstthe gun, and he grasped it to save it from falling, in the act the gun was discharge*! and the entire load taking effect in Ids arm, and it was so badly shattered that amputation was found necessary.
