Mrs. Mary Hill, a well-known and highly respected pioneer resident of this city, died, Saturday evening, at sixo'clock, of career, aged about seventy years. Mrs. Hill is better known to old settlers as the wife of Win. Cooley, a colored eiti/en who fought under Gen* era! Jackson at the battle of New'lt; Means. Bhe came to this city, with her husband. William Cooley, in 1S:3, and has acted well her part’ since that time, while health and strength permitted. Hers was an humble walk in life, but it was useful and there are yet many upon the shores of time who will pay just tribute to the memorv of her deeds.1 Her life was long, laborous and eventful, but it was, according to her opportunities, welUspent, and it is reasonable to hope, that its fruition is found in the rest and reward of the good made better.The funeral will take place to morrow ' Tuesday ) at 2 o’clock, from the African M.
