BY RICHARD STRENGTH Sports editor ELLISVILLE — It is probably best for opponents of Jones Junior College’s basketball teams to catch them early in the season before they begin to play well. But the favorable scheduling was no consola tion for East Mississippi Thursday night as both JCJC squads won easily despite not playing as well as they are able. In the early game, the Lady Bobcats built a huge lead before settling for a 73- 53 victory. Later, the Bob cats took command midway through the first half and were never seriously threat ened in a 74-53 triumph over the Lions, JCJC 74, EMCC 53 Jones took the lead for good a little more than five minutes into the contest, but couldn’t put the scrappy Lions away until a late sec ond half surge.
