16th Anniversary of Pres ent Church Building To Be Observed Sunday, November 21 will be a memorable date for the members and friends of the Kline Memorial United Brethren Church at Enter prise when the 16th anniversary of the erection of the present church building is celebrated. The program for the day calls for ser vices in the morning, afternoon and evening. The opening service at 9:30 A. M. in charge of Carl Engle, Sun day School superintendent, will be a rally program with an attend ance goal of one hundred. At 10:30 A. M. the regular morning worship will be held un der the direction of the pastor. Featuring this worship will be a Service Boys Recognition, which will include calling the Service Boy’s Honor Roll, response by the family of the boy, the lighting of a candle of honor and a dramatiza tion by Mrs. Carl L. Wilson, en titled, “These Are Our Sons.” Each boy’s family will receive a book let, “Thoughts and Prayers For Anxious Hours,” prepared es pecially for families of those in the armed forces. The altar will be banked with flowers, ferns and palms for this service and the ser mon will be delivered by the Rev. W. G. Stiverson, Leesburg, a for mer Army chaplain, now a retired minister. Rev. and Mrs. Stiverson were former residents of Enter prise and hold their church mem bership in the Kline Memorial Church. Basket Dinner At noon, 12:15, Ladies Aid Society will act as host at an old fashioned country basket dinner which will be served in the social-recreation al room of the church. Each fam ily is asked to bring a well filled basket. Featuring this noon fel lowship around a common family table will be the reunion of Dr. Porter Wright’s family and Hock ing ‘County friends. A special table will be arranged for Dr. Wright, his immediate family, Hocking County relatives and friends and visiting ministers. ‘The afternoon “Fellowship and Praise Hour” will start at 2 P. M. After an‘ opening congregational sing and devotions, greetings by the visitors, special music by the Union Furnace High School brass quartet, an appropriate recogni tion service will be held in honor of Dr. P. E. Wright, a former Hocking Countian, now pastor of the ‘Mills Memorial United Breth ren Church, Lancaster. “Flowers For The Living”, the title of the recognition service, will find six Persons paying tribute to Dr. Wright. His only son, Rev. P. El mer Wright, Jr., pastor of the Branchester U. B. Church, will speak for Dr. Wright as a father. Mr. Finlay Wolfe, a Spanish American War comrade of Dr. Wright will speak for him as a soldier. Homer Evans, a former pupil of Dr. Wright while teach ing school near Enterprise, will talk about him as a teacher. Rev. H. O. Davis, under whose min istry Dr. Wright was converted, will discuss him as a layman. Rev. Carl L. Wilson, pastor of the En terprise Charge, will discuss Dr. Wright as a pastor, and Rev. A. N. Grueser, pastor of the Logan U. B. Church and very closely associat ed with Dr. Wright in Southeast Ohio Conference administrative work, will speak of him as a con ference administrator. Closing these five minute tributed to Dr. Wright, the local church will pre sent him with a gift. Dr. Wright will deliver the homecoming ser mon after which special music will be furnished by the Mills Church musicians. Evening Program The evening program beginning at 7. P. M. will observe World Mis sion Advancement Day with the local W. M. A. and Otterbein Guild society in charge. Featuring this program will be the playlet: “The Challenge of the Cross”, present ed by the Bethany U. B. Church Otterbein Guild. The speaker of the evening will be Mrs. Grueser of Logan, a vice president and Ot terbein Guild counsellor of the Southeast Ohio Branch Women’s Missionary Association. The public is cordially invited to attend all of these services. The following days will be hon ored in the morning service as recognition for answering the call to the armed services:—Carlos, Mark and Robert Brashares, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Josef Brashares; Carl, Robert and Clarence Helber, sons of Mr. and Mrs. William Helber; Ray, Robert and Clyde Beougher, sons of Mr. Oscar Beougher; Paul, Donald and Law rence Ellinger, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Ellinger; Robert and Carl Evans, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Evans; Robert and John Pavlich, sons of Mr. and Mrs. George Pavlich; Lewis and James Taylor, sons of Mrs. Lester Atbell; Ray Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edwards; Charles Knox, hus band of Mrs. Mabel Knox; Walter Mathias, son of Mrs. Charles Sey mour; Gordon Ernest and Floyd Glenn Swackhammer, sons of Mrs. Mary E. Swackhammer; Paul Car penter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carpenter; Lawrence and Earl Warthman, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Warthman; Paul Risch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Risch; Joseph and Richard Car penter, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Carpenter; Guy Connors, son of Mrs. John Connors; Charles Young, sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. John Herron; Jay Dupler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Dupler; John Bray, sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. William Brown; Verlin Hartman, foster son of Rev. and Mrs. Carl Wilson; Floyd Walker, son of Mrs. Clint Dupler; Ray Dupler, son of Mr. Clint Dupler. Three boys re cently honorably discharged, Har old Blum, Roy Ellinger and Robert Edwards, will be present.
