Brickmakers Make AwardExpert Study Discloses Waste Material Could He Profitably Used in ManufactureA fellowship of $2,000 has been awarded by the New York Brick-makers Association to Harvey Conner of Avoca, who was graduated from the New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred University, in June,Mr. Conner’s work is to apply the findings of the experiment station of the New York State College of Ceramics to the actual production of brick by New York State industries.He is now visiting ceramics plants throughout the state to learn their pi oblems and is regularly sending samples and information to the experiment station.While brick production in New York State is satisfactory and compares favorably with that in other states, the manufacturers feel that further improvements may be made, particularly in utilizing materials now being wasted, according to Dr. M. E.
