Yesterday Afternoon the first Practice Game Took Place at the Big New Curling! Rink, . . 'Some dozen curling enthusiasts showed up at the new curling rink yesterday afternoon and general practice was indulged in. The ice was not in the best of condition on the only rinfe that is yet in service, but a little more playing will soon remedy this defect.For the next week or two practice , games will be in order and scrub j teams will be picked from among the I members before any effort is made ! to arrange for the permanent teams ! that will go through the winter’s play.! Some very good material is at band i and. there is no doubt, considering the interest that is being taken in the game, that -some keen contests will develop before any teams carry off the fine trophies that are up for competition.In a short while tliree rinks will be laid and put in the best of condition, and there will be lots of room on all occasions for the members to get busy at the “roarin’ game.”
