1 Walter* son of Samuel and Nancy Ewan wag born at Hayden, Indiana, Jennings County, August 12, 1360 and departed this life November 12, 1921, age 61 years and 3 months.At the age of 5 years with hi*; three brothers and* parents he moved near Morocco, living there i until he was 11 years of age. Since then he has spent the remaining years of his life in and near Brook. At the age of 28 he suffered the loss of both parents, their passing being only three months apart.He was unite in marriage Sept.1, 1881 to Mattie Fehrle, after j which with his wife moved to the ( farm south-east of Brook, where. he lived until a few years ago, then , moving Into town.H© was a great lover of his home, spending all his time there when not at his work. He was a friend to those in need always ready to help with service and sympathy, and especially a friend to children. The little children of the neghborhood always found a warm welcome in, his home. On learning of his death a little hoy; said, Mother, another one of my i friends has died, which is to show he loved and welcomed them although his own home was not blessed with children.He leaves to . mourn his loss aj wife, two brothers, William of, Walnut, Kansas, Orphus of Oakley, Kansas, other relatives and a. host j i of friends. !j Other relatives present were 'John Wells and Mr. and* Mrs. Ed.
