Fatal Plunge of a Train,FARUELTONfQne.fNov.l7.—A construction train on the Gatineau Valley railroad was derailed on a bridge over Stag creek, near here, and the engine and thirteen cars were precipitated 100 feet in the canyon. Engineer Saul Wilson, Fireman Meagher, Brake-man William Blakeley, and an unknown boy were killed. The loss on the rolling •took will amount to thousands of dollars. _Three Trainmen Fatally Injured.Altoona, Pa., Nov. 17.—A freight wreckoccurred at Allegrippus late Wednesdaynight. Three men are probably fatally injured. Their names are S. G. Johnson, engineer; Busck, fireman, and a brakernan whose name could not be learned. They were brought to the Altoona hospital for treatment. It is thought that Busckwill die.CALAMITY AT A CELEBRATION.School Iloiiht* \\ recked by au Explosionand Several People Killed.Fayetteville, Ark., Nov. 17.—TheDemocrats of Mountain View held a presidential election celebration In the district school house at that place Tuesday night, and a terrible disaster ended the proceedings prematurely. Anvil firing and the discharge of fireworks were features of the jollification, and as a consequence a large quantity of explosives had been provided. A portion of these had been stored in the school house. During the speech-making, and while the buildingwas packed w ith men, women and children, two kegs of powder exploded. The result was frightful. The school house was totally w recked, and most of its occupants buried in its ruins. Those w ho could extricate themselves set about at once to rescue the others.
