Killed by a Bull-Dog.The horrible death and mutilation ot a child by a ferocious bull-dog occurred near Wilmington on Saturday. Frank, the little non of John Fox, a farmer residing on the New Castle road, about two miles from Wilmington, was the victim. He went to the house of John Doran, a neighbor, to play with the children there, with whom he was very intimate. As he stepped on the joreh a huge bul 1-dog, chained near the door, sprang upon him and sunk its fangs deep into his throat. The poor child was unable to make the least effort to escape. He simply threw up his hands and uttered a cry of fright, and the next moment the dog was upon him, forcing him backward with its heavy weight, and sinking its fangs deep into his throat. No one was about at the time but the other children. None of these were large enough to render the little fellow any assistance in his puny struggle against the blood-thirsty animal, and when assistance arrived and the child was picked up he was found to be dead and horribly mutilated. Little Frank was about five vearsVold and was a remarkably bright and handsome child, and a great favorite with the whole neighborhood. The dog was promptly killed.
