Thomas Edward Carter, 91, of Clovis, N.M., died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at his home in Clovis. He was born Feb. 24, 1915, in the Rock Lake Community northwest of Melrose, N.M., to Tom and Myra Rudisill Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ina Carter; and son, Tommy Wayne Carter. He is survived by stepdaughter, Margaret Williams, of Clovis; daughter, Jayne Norris (Tom), of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Patrick Carter (Ruth), of Salem, Ore. and Kelly Carter (Margarita), of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Louise Newsom and Hazel Dunson (Clifford), all of Clovis; special nephew, Randy Dunson (Nancy), of Portales, N.M.; special home caregiver, Matt Nelson, of Clovis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several cousins. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1932 and served 39 months in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Ina Stone, Oct. 15, 1982, in Mesa, Ariz. He worked for the forest serv ice and civil service until his retirement. He enjoyed dancing, fish ing, NBA Basketball and he loved a good political argument.
