Frozen Body Of Melvin KochisFoundThe frozen body of Melvin Jay Kochis was found With a gunshot -wound about 10 miles south of Pocatello, Idaho, Tuesday, November 8th,Melvin was a student at Idaho State University. His body was found by hikers along a trail in the Mink Creek area. An autopsy was performed Wednesday, waich showed Kochis had been shot in the upper chest, with the bullet passing through his body, so the type 01 weapon used was not known,A Sheriff’s Detective in Idaho reported a .38-caliber pistol was found about a half mile from Kochis's body, but investigators had not determined if the pistol was connected to the man s death, Melvin Kochis is the son ofAlbert Kochis of Pueblo. He is also survived by two brothers, James and Robert Kochis of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Alice Solomon and Carol Day of Colorado Springs; and his grandmother, Anna Kosley, formerly of Ramah, now of Colorado Springs.Melvin was born February 15, 1956 in Colorado Springs. He was a 1914 graduate of Widefield High School. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and had served in the Air Force.Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a, m. at the Chapel of Memories in Colorado Springs with Rev. L. W. Linnerson officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
