NEDERLAND — The Lady Nederland Bulldogs picked up their fourth win of the season by dropping 25, fourth quarter points on Warren en route to a 65-54 come-from-behind victory in the first round of the Lady Bulldog Classic in the Dog Dome on Thursday afternoon. The Dogs were led by Taylor Carlson who ripped off 22 points and made 10 steals in the contest. Carlson was joined by Kelsey Pritchard, who scored 17 points, and Alicia Thevis, who pulled down 12 boards. With the win, the Lady Dogs move to 4-0 on the season and will play Victor in the winner’s bracket today’s action at 12 p.m. in the Dog Dome. All winner's bracket games will be played in the Dog Dome while the losers bracket games will be held in the Competition Gym. Nederland head coach Chris Smith said his club started slow but stuck it out and came out strong in the end. “We had a great second half,” he said. “We had an even better fourth quarter and that’s what it was going to take for us to get a win tonight. We had great intensity and I was really proud of the way our girls fought in this game.” The Bulldogs trailed Warren 29-23 at half and 43-38 at the end of the third quarter before they outscored Warren 25-12 in the final period.
