Bates, director of the Maine Extension Service in Orono, who commended those present for their work inExtension programs and 4-H clubsDouglas Spencer, president of the York County Extension Association, oversaw the business meeting following the banquet. Some ISO persons were present. Executive board members Jane McGrath and Francis Kimball presented the certificatesAlso receiving certificates, for contributions to the betterment of 4-H in York County were; Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Seery and family, for assistance at county Extension events; Jane McGrath, for leadership and assistance to new leaders; Bertha Knight, for leadership in the York County 4-H horse program; Mr. and Mrs Glenn Wildes and family and Mr. and Mrs. Spero Therianos. for assistance at the Acton Fair 4-H leaders food booth; Mr and Mrs. Ralph Whitman, Beth Corey, Victor Horn and Delores Ham for assistance with 4-H activities at Acton Fair.Teens recognized for leadership were: Bruce Robie and Brenda Seery, both ofwhom worked in the summer campsprogram; Ann Belisle for leadership at theOrono Room to Grow Conference; and Laura Snyder, active in “older youth’’ activities Bruce and Laura are newly elected members of the York County Extension Association Executive Board. Brenda is the Maine delegate to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago this month.Silver clover pms were presented to Cecile Cyr. Mr and Mrs Francis Kimball, Jean Seery, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Delaney. Deborah Prokey, Dianne Mayo, and Patricia Searles, for five years of service.The drawing for the 4-H beef animal was won by John Oeckler of Connecticut, whois moving to Maine A check of 1500 was presented to Bruce Robie for the Older Youth Association, from the sale of tickets for the beef animal, to help finance this year’s exchange trip project.
