Let-down after the big one is the only way you can describe the game last Friday night against New Smyrna. It’s very difficult for a coach to get his team “up” for a game that doesn’t count in the stand ings, particularly after they have just scored an upset the week before. the sia timwinnnas Land The New Smyrna Hurricane game proved most conclusively that homecoming should be a conference game. What's the difference whether you lose to an outsider or a conference team? It’s still a loss, and I conclude that more in terest would be shown by playing a conference game. The boys all admitted that it was one of their worst games, and although it does not in any way reflect it upon them, it could have been different had they really wanted this one. The Hurricanes ended the sea son with an overall standing of six wins and three losses which is no mean record. In fact it is good enough to earn them a tie for second place in the Mid-Lakes Conference along with Tavares, and Lake Weir. This is quite a record when you consider the fact that the squad was so small that scrimmages could not be held. The Golden Hurricanes of Mount Dora certainly have been a credit to their school, and the community they represent, not only because they won more than they lost, but in the sportsmanlike manner in which they did it. Coach Allbritten is one of those very conscientious indi viduals who works hard at any thing he undertakes to accomplish. The record of his team proves this conclusively. In talking to him about next year he set down on paper the line-up Mount Dora would probably put on the field exclusive of the returning varsity men from this year’s team, and below is what he came up with. Offensive team: End—Byron Kennedy Tackle—Larry Tanner Tackle—Charles Stoothoff Guard—Jimmie Reich Center—Edwin Harrison Guard—Bobby Flora End—Danny McWhorter Right half—Harvey Partridge Quarterback—Randy Cox Fullback—Jerry Stark Left half—Mike Stewart Defensive Team, Robert Wason, Phillip Chapman, Byron Kennedy, Larry Tanner, Bobby Flora, Dan ny McWhorter, Jimmy Reich, Jerry Stark, Edwin Harrison, Ran dy Cox, Mike Stewart, John Moon and Hank Dufour. He has singled out Bernard McCabe as a place kicker, and Byron Kennedy as punter. He was particularly im pressed with the following young men who have just finished their first year in football: Bill Eichel berger, Robert Wason, Phillip Chapman, John Moon, Ed Brooks, Hank Dufour, Jerry Stark, Mike Stewart, Bernard McCabe, Jackie Pease, Jimmie Dake, and George
