Plans for the big: Thanksgiving ‘—-Day picnic to be held at Venice Beach were forwarded. The Venice Chamber of Commerce will at that time be host to the memberships of the Engelwood and Osprey chamber and the general public in these communities. Venice-Noko- 1 mis and Sarasota is invited to par-! ticipate. Games and contests for young and old, boys and iris, men and women, are to be held. A number of prizes will be given to thlt; boys and girls in their contests There will be races for local groups and also open events. Among *the offers of prizes received at the meeting were medals!1 from F. J. Cad well and A. V.!' Carkuff while the Roger C. Rice Co., Inc., offered to supply any other medals or prizes the entertainment committee decides to award.Those who attend the affair will bring lunches with them but the Venice Chamber of Commerce will provide a big fish dinner. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers has volunteered to throw open the beautiful Venice Beach bathing casino for use of the pick-nickers. It is expected that there will be a very large attendance from all over Sarasota county at this gala affair.
