Panther Killed.—On the 9th inst., a male Panther was killed in Monroe county, near Crockett’s Bluff, by James Mayo. He measured nine feet from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail.That beautiful season known as “Indian Summer,” took its departure from this latitude on Saturday morning last. We had a change from the balmy breezes of the South to the chiHing winds of the North in the short Apace of an 'hour.(J5TA company of Georgians passed through our town on Saturday last on their way home from Pikers Peak. AM we could learn of their success goes to corroborate the fact that the same amount of toil and money necessary to a trip to these mines, expended in cultivating the rich lands of /Arkansas, is productive of much greater results.- M - - 'Photographic Portraits.—Those eminent artists, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey, have arv rived and will open at the Des Arc Hotel in the course of a day or two.
