The Eagles, who oppose Cattaraugus in a non-league contest Friday nigiht are, standing Kenny Hinman, Dave Schumacher, Paul-Weise, Tom Brewer, Chuck Smith, and Skip Adams Kneeling, Greg Mett, Joe O’Brien, Tom Goodson,, and James Clark.ECS Basketeers Open 1961-62Season Friday In New GymnasiumScholastic basketball will be inaugurated in the ECS gym Friday night when the Eagles of Coaah Ray Gray meet Cattaraugus Central School in a varsity contest begining at 8:15. The forty candidates who reported for competition on Nov 1 have been scalded down and conditioned for the 1961-62 season and Coadh Gray expects his varsityrnen to improve last years 9 won ten lo*t record.* Coach Gray has been stressing fundamentals and patterns with his thirteen man varsity. He hopes to climb from last years third place finish in the .Cattaraugus County Class C League to title contention .with has veterannucleus.Leading the Eagles quintet will be high scaring guard Ken Hinman, 5 foot 9 inch Junior. He will probxb ly’ B e paired witfe a sophomore, Greg Mett. Six foot two inch Dave Schumacher will get the nod at the center position, and Skip Adams and Tom Brewer both six footers, will bp at. fVr-wards. All except Mett are let-termen.Senior lettermen Paul Weise, Jay Clark, and Cliff Baldwin will provide experienced reserve material. Goodson, Moore, O’Brien Smith, and Harris are also expected to see action.
