The Texas Junior Historian club, chpter 91, has organized at Rock dale High School with 49 members and has opened its activity with a letter about the problem of short age of storage space for several Texas documents and records. Chapter — officers are: Robert Crump, president; Mike Hight, vice president;, Douglas Irby, sec retary-treasurer, and Richard Kirkpatrick, reporter. Sponsors are Miss Nora Duncum, American his tory teacher, and Rev. MOM. Ful mer. The chapter is divided into two sections representing two Ameri can history classes. Section one of ficers are Crump, president;Hight, vice president; Virginia Wilson, secretary-treasurer; - Tinda’ ‘Gra ham, reporter, and Errol Robinson, program chairman. Section seven officers are Char lotte Urban, president; Charlene Holden, Vice president; Shirley Jo McFalls,. secretary, and ‘Becky Reynolds, reporter. The club’s first activity was to write the Texas State Historical Association and State Representa tive Herman Yezak. These letters concerned ‘the. .problem of the shortage of storage space of many historical documents and records. These valuable archives, formerly stored in the Highway Department Building in Austin, has been mov ed to a metal Quonset structure at Camp Hubbard four miles from the state capitol. The club feels something should be done to store the valuable archives in a better place. The chapter’ will participate in community. .activities, the writing contest, contributing to school pro grams local and school newspapers and patriotic activities. Its motto is, “No Minis Fit to be Entrusted with the control of the Present who is ignorant of the Past, and no People who are indifferent to their Past need hope to make their future area,”
