It is with extreme reluctance that we chronicle the untimely passing of Donald Eibel, only son of Mr. Wil liam Eibel, late Manager of the Rhinelander Paper company He was the victim of an unavoidable auto mobile accident on the ninth of Oct ober, and died on the morning of the tenth. Right in the springtime of a valued life, with every prospect pointing ahead to years of usefulness in what ever fields of endeavour his fancy might have led him, he has passed away—and the world is a lot poorer in his passing. Thinking of him is like thinking of all perfect poem; of recalling some strain of exquisite music; or a picture by a master artist—not of palaces or rugged mountains or roaring riv ers, but of a cottage over which runs a vine, a little home thatched with content, with its simple life, its na tural sunshine and shadow its trees bending with fruit its hollyhocks and pinks its hum of bees— a simile in the desert of this world. Out of the maelstrom and turmoil of a topsy turvy adolescence came this boy with his cleansing strong body and healthy outlook open life and a challenging rebuke to those who have little faith in the present day youth of the land, it is was that rare and enviable soul which could walk with kings and not lose the common touch. En dowed by training and heritage with a keen and generous appreciation of the finer and better things in this world his life was un benediction to to those who still cling ‘to the old fashioned belief that “God's in the heavens—AW's right with the world.” Especially favored with close per sonal acquaintance and association with Don, as many here in the plant have been, his going away fills us ‘with selfishness of grief that finds a mute rebuke in our every memory of him. He was unselfish wholly, and many ane carrying sad hearts, recall ing the always patient strength and gentleness of this fine boy, his un failing hope and cheer and kindly humor, the pure devotion to his home, the deep affections for his friends, his constant dreams, plans and realizations. We cannot doubt but that somehow, somewhere, he continues cheerily on in the un spoken exercise of these same capa cities——Reprinted from the November Hipeo Ripples.
