The question is one of more than usual import-from the financial, moral, .political and business points of Tire, such u toad?for oon.ideration of tha mulUwhich may follow the adoption of a method acknowledged to be difficult of enforcement, and which is a radical departure from the long established customs of the county, by which the revenues are to be seriously affectfd-SBpeoiaJlp where applied to the public schools—and a deficit created which means a material increase in taxation, as well as an interference with the inalienable rights of the individual, contrary to the spirit of free government and an awramption of authority by one claaa of individuals over another, which is dangerous to republican institutions; therefore be it wKeeolved, By the business men god citizens of Kootenai county, that the best interests of the whole people, of the pub lio schools and of the municipal governments, as well as the future prosperity of the county, will be subserved by voting down the proposed prohibition law enforcementResolved, That it is a self evident fact that the cutting off of the large sum derived from the license revenue will seriously cripple the county, the schools and the municipalities of the county by depriving them of sufficient funds with which to conduct public affaire, and force upon the property owner a burden of taxation which will almost reach a point of confiscation.Resolved, That while we recognize the evils of the American saloon and intemperance from alcoholic liquors, conditions are such in Kootenai county that an enforcement of a prohib itory law would drive the business under cover, with all its crimes and violations of law, by both seller and buyer, thus making criminals of those who are otherwise good and lawabiding citizens, and doing greater harm than can come from regulated and restricted saloon.the wellResolved.
