CLARENCE HOUSTON, SR.Services will be held Monday morning for Clarence Houston, Sr., 73, of 14743 Wood street, Harvey. Mr. Houston died November 11 at Oak Forest hospital.Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hammond and Prowell Chapel, 305 East 16th street, Chicago Heights. Family visitation is scheduled for 8 to 9 p.m. at Christ Temple No. 2 in East Chicago Heights.Elder Marcus Irons will officiate at the funeral, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Temple No. 2. Burial will be at Mt. Glenwood cemetery.Before moving to Harvey a year ago, Mr. Houston had lived in the Chicago Heights area for 30 years. He was born March 13, 1901, in DeKalb, Miss.Mr. Houston was a member of Christ Temple No. 2 and Strest Lodge 5 of the Masonic order.He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Young of Chicago Heights and Mrs. Betty McClinton of Harvey; eight sons, Milton of Leland, Miss., Welton of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., T.G. of Kenosha, Wis., Lindsey of Harvey, Orlando of Harvey, Clarence, Jr., of East Chicago Heights, Melvin of Chicago Heights and Savage of Chicago Heights; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Vonn, Mrs. Odie Griffin, Mrs. Idell Johnson and Mrs. Clara Westerford, all of DeKalb, Miss.; three brothers, Chandler of Indianapolis, Clyde of Chicago Heights and Cozy of Meridian, Miss.; 30 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
