They are the third in a series of big-name appearances for the 1969-70 Carroll College school year.The Roots have been a major rock group since they first burst on the scene with “Where Were You When I Needed You.” This was followed by their big gold record, “Let’s Live For Today.” Among their other big singles have been: “Midnight Confession,” “BellaLinda,” and “Lovin’ Things.” The California group has a brand new album just out, entitled “Leaving It All Behind.” The members of the group are Rob Grill, Dennis Provisor, Rick Coonce, and Warren Ent-ner. Entner was the organizer of the Grass Roots. Grill is the lead singer.After their debut in the topless nightclub, the Grass Roots decided that this was not the right image and a waste of time. They have been a feature attraction at colleges all over the country ever since.
