Johnson said that he didn't remember seeing Corbin drive up or seeing Corbin at the scene of the accident. Testimony by McWilliams and Corbin had previously estab lished Corbin as the first one at the scene following the crash. Johnson testified that he was not knocked out nor da2ed by the crash.Under cross-examination it was brought out that while the road north of the accident was rough and humpy Johnson did not have trouble controlling his car. Johnson testified that the road slopes to the cost as it rounds the curve at the place of the accident. Ho testified also that his glasses, which he said he wears all the time, were knocked off In the crash and that he did not miss them until! he got to the hospital. Court adjoutncd for the noon hour with Johnson still on the stand under cross-examination.The session yesterday afternoon opened with the testimony of Dr. James p. Clark, McWilllam's physician. He testified that he treated McWilliams the night of the accident and that he suffered a cut on the lower lip, a puncture-type wound of the right knee, a fracture of the lower end of the knee cap and bruises of the left side of the chest. Clark testified that the puncture wound of the knee allowed air and blood to get into the knee joint and that when he tapped the joint prior to treatment there‘was a splashing sound.Dr. Clark revealed that he had taken x-rays of the knee Joint yesterday morning and that they showed the fracture to be well healed. On cross-examination it was brought out4 that the joint had healed and appeared to be a normal Joint. Clark testified that while he could find nothing wrong with McWilliams In an examination on Oct. 24, hfe still complained of pain in his leg and knee and while there is nothing to bear out this pain Clark said, I am inclined to credit his story.goi 10 inn scene 01 me acciucni the Johnson auto was about one third on the east {wrong side) of the center line of the pavement.McWilliams w*as recalled to the stand following Wittneben and testified that the cars had not been moved up until the time he w’as taken to the hospital.★ ★ ★Attempts by the plaintiff’s attorneys to establish the value of the McWilliams auto prior to the accident fell, through when the testimony of Gerald Harmon, body and fender man at Thomas Motors, was objejcted to by the defense and ruled out by the judge. Harmon had testified that he made an estimate of the cost of repairing the auto following the accident andt that the estimate was more than the car was worth. Under cross-examination, Harmon testified that in his opinion the car was worth between $600 and $700 prior to the accident. He said that the salvage value of the machine was between $25 and $50., ir irirJudge Fred M. Hudsop ruled out part of the testimony of Harmon and two exhibits of the plaintiff which wore the original estimates Harmon had made. Jfe testified that he had driven by the accident before being called to pick up the wreck and that at tlifti time he had been going south and that he passed the wrecked Johnson auto on the west side of the pavement.Russell Jones, also from the Graettingcr hardware company, took the stand and testified that there was a space between the Johnson auto arid the west edge of the pavement.
