Passengers Escape Serious Injuryin Bus AccidentA Trailway bus bound for Vernal out of Salt Lake City, moved across Windy Ridge in the Strawberry area last Thursday evening, struck ice and plunged from the road, rolling over three limes before coming to a stop on its side, well removed from Highway 40.The bus which went out of j control on the icy pavement was loaded with passengers en-route to the Uintah Basin, but ' none were seriously injured1 1 when it rolled from the highway. Bad bruises, a few broken bones,| :md shock constituted the in-juney which by all standards could have been more serious ! cons'dering the severity of theaccidentEarly reports indicated that lie driver sustained three broken ribs, being the most ser-iously injured of those in the; bus! Witnesses to the accident I staled that the bus, which was not traveling at an excessive speed, struck an icy stretch on Wmd Ridge, swerved from the highway rolled over completely two times, coming to rest on its side half way through the third roll.Injured in the accident were: I May Mu I inski, mother of Mrs, Wayne Ames of loka: Sterling Fairbanks, father of Vov Fair-I banks of Arcadia. Mrs Simmon son and two small children, of Ml Emmons, Marvin Hamilton and Mrs Florence Nielson, of RooseveltMrs Mot inski was taken to Heber City for treatment and transferred l.o the Roosevelt hospital on Monday.Mr:- Nielson, who was brought into Roosevelt, suffered severe bruises and injuries to her back and wris'. X-ray examination revealed thal she had not' •suffered broken ribs as was orii:mullv thought. She remained j under observation and treatment at the Roosevelt hospital , for several davs.
