During the trip Superintendent Hay-field and bia aaeietaute tried tho vessel out in every manner that could auggest iteelf to thoea thoroughly conversanj with the requirements in such cases. In every paftieglgr the vessel waa fouud to measure fully up to the standard and delivery was accordingly accepted.The Point Ellice was constructed for the dredging department of the Public Works of Canada and desigued as a tender for the dredge Ajax at Victoria to replace the tug Petrel, which has beea made into a cruiser. The measurements of the Point Ellice are as follows: length over all 111 feetof plaut has been purchased and is be iug installed and the business will be thoroughly equipped in every department for the turning nut of lirat class work in an expeditious manner A foundry is beiug established and will bo equipped with - every facility for making all the castings etc. which may bo required.Thoplant in the machine shop will be largely Increased and its efficiency developed to tho highest possible point. A large collection of valuable patterns for different classes of work has been purchased and a pattern shop will be established. A woodworking factory will likowise be iuetalled where the compauy will manufacture its own patterns, mouldings aud all similar products which may be required. The paid up capital of the company has beou increased by the sum of $160,000. Hon. P. L. Darter-Cotton has been elected president and with him arc associat cd as a board of directors prominent and successful men who have ulrcudy done a great deal in promo!iug the upbuilding of the great commercial con tre on tiurrard Inlet.
