The action wn* brought by the plaintiff; ^establish the validity of a patent for the 'Cylinder Paper Machine, taken out in 1832, but surrendered and a new patent taken out in Oct, 1832. The amount involved at his trial, i» not a matter of much moment, but the Consequences to the paper manufacturing interest, are of immense importance. Wo are informed that there are not leas tliaa 600 of the Machines in this country, and that unless the decision should ho reversed in anotheraction, (he plaintiff will recover from the owners of the machines,from lt;4400-000 to lt;£600,000 ! ! ! We also learn that the manufacturers have determined (o contest this patent in another action, and that with this view able counsel is retained, in addition to the counsel in the case just decided.— Trantcript,
