Wrongful Death Suit In Sutter Manslaughter CaseA Yuba City man currently on trial in Sutter County SuperiorCourt on criminal charges of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunken driving has had a wrongful death civil suit filed against him.Unspecified damages are being sought by Lisa Rose Zoc-co, as the guardian for 11-month old Ricky Lee Howard, whoThe suit claims Lewis, 22, of 1835 Melinda Court, was drivinga pickup truck north on Highway 113 about one mile south of Everglade Road that struck and killed Milton Lee Howard, 21, of 331 Del Norte Ave., Yuba City. The accident occurred on Nov. 16,1980, while Howard was standing near a motorcycle on the east shoulder of the road, the suit alleges.Ricky Lee Howard is the son of victim, according to court records.Meanwhile, testimony began yesterday afternoon in the trialfor Lewis on the criminal charges.A jury was selected just before noon yesterday and opening testimony from California Highway Patrol officers was heard until the evening break at 4 p.m.The trial, presided over by Judge Terence Keeley, is expected to continue through next week.filed suit in Sutter County Superior Court against Timothy Sewell Lewis.
