CORNING—Ray M. Reed, 67, of 2 Van Kurin Road, Gibson, a retired New York State game pro tector, died at the Corning Hos pital yesterday. He had served as game pro tector in the southern section of Steuben County for 28 years prior to retirement in 1954. He was an organizer and past president of the New York-Penn Firemen’s Assn. He was instru mental in the establishment of the Gibson Volunteer Fire De partment. For many years, he was chair man of the Corning Red Cross Disaster Preparedness and Relief Service which he coordinated with the Steuben County Civil Defense organization. He received several citations for his Red Cross work. He attended the Painted Post Baptist Church and was a mem ber of Painted Post Lodge 117 FAM, of Corning, and Corning Lodge of Elks, a director of the Corning and Painted Post Hu mane Society, the Painted Post Field and Stream Club and the Addison Fish and Game Club.
