Funeral ServicesHeld for Dr.Guy E. WatsonWhen the ties that bind are severed by death, then we realize more fully the worth of a neighbor and friend and in the passing of j Dr. Watson Commerce has lost a neighbor and friend.He was taken sick only a short time before his death, dying of pneumonia at Baylor Hospital in Dallas Saturday morning. Nov. 7th at 7:17 o’clock. The body was brought to Commerce Saturday afternoon. Services were held Sunday at 3 o'clock. Masonic services -were held at the home of his step-son, Owen Boggess, on Svcamore Street. Church sendees were held at the Baptist Church, Rev. J R Hickerson conducting the service. Interment was made j with Masonic honors at Rose-] mound cemetery.Dr. Watson came to Commerce with his parents in April, 1879. at the age of 11 years from Aberdeen, | Mississippi. He resided here un-j til seven years ago when he moved to Dallas, Texas.In 1900 he married Mrs. Annie , Boggess. To this union a daugb-' ter was bora. Miss Frances Wat-' son. the only child. Mrs. Watson preceded her husband in death in j 1920. About one year ago Dr.Watson married Mrs. Battle of.1Dallas, Texas. 1At 15 years of age he joined the Baptist Church and lived a consistent Christian, life. Survivorsare his mother. Mrs. George McCauley of Sulphur Spnnsg, bis wife, of Dallas, one daughter, Miss Frances Watson of Commerce, and one step-son, Owen Boggess of Commerce.
