CIVIL WAR NURSE DEAD8I8TER JULIA TENDED WOUNDED MARINE8 DURING THE FOUR YEARS OF THE CIVIL WAR.Sister Julia, formerly Miss Julia Sheehan of Detroit, for sixty years a member of the Order of Slaters of Charity, died recently at the Orphan Asylum, Syracuse, N. Y., where she had been stationed for some time past. The deceased immediately upon her reception into her order was assigned to a post in Detroit, and served as nurse among the smallpox patients there during epidemic of that disease which soon followed. When the Civil War broke out she was assigned as nurse to the marines and served In that capacity during the four years of the war’s continuance. She was 84 years of age at the time of her death.
