With three starters returning, including another one who started half the season, Wardlaw believes this year’s loaded team could be the cream of the crop, which is saying a lot. In the six years Ward law has been at Medina, he has won four of the past five district titles. This year, he has a point guard that's been a fixture of the squad for several seasons in Drew Landry. The 5-foot-8-inch point guard and reigning District 29-A, Division 1 Most Valuable Player will pace the Bobcats. “What can you say? He's Andrew Landry,” Wardlaw said. “He did it on the football field he'll do it on the basketball court, and he'll go do it in golf and baseball. He’s just a kid that you run and you don’t have to worry about any thing. He knows what he’s doing, and he'll play hard for you.” Landry averaged 22 points per game for the Bobcats and led them to a second place finish in the district and a bi-district round appearance. Helping Landry is the 6-foot-2-inch senior Sam mie Williamson, sophomore guard Mitchell Black and junior J.D. Ortiz, who started several games for the Bobcats last season. Williamson averaged 10 points per game last season. Throw in several other big players, and the Bobcats have a deep roster.
